INGREDIENTS
1 cup urad dal, 1½ tsp rice flour, 1 tsp black pepper powder, coarsely ground, oil for frying, salt to taste
METHOD
• Clean and soak the urad dal for 30 minutes. Drain the water and keep aside.
• Grind the dal to a coarse paste.
• Mix in the rice flour, black pepper powder and salt and stir well.
• Heat oil in a pan and drop spoonfuls of the paste.
• Deep-fry the vadas on both sides and drain the excess oil.
• Remove and serve hot.
